Tulips In The Garden - $45

(14 cm in height, hand built clay - low fire glaze)

Bob

(5 cm in height, hand built clay - low fire glaze)

They knew if they stuck together, it would be okay. Rodney took it the hardest; why were people so cruel? So they didn't have hair, what was the problem with that? It was hard to be different and Rodney wanted to fit in.  His brothers noticed something had changed when he brought home the wig. It was time for an intervention.

Betty Gets Her Groove On

(8 cm in height, hand built clay - low fire glaze)

Living alone now for the last six years since her husband passed on, Betty has taken up Palates Yoga. Of late, she has been considering a return to the dating scene, even though she worries that she may find the whole thing rather unsettling.  She thought she might start with joining a co-ed fitness club, but wanted to ensure that her triceps were in proper working order first.

Simone Is Happy With Her Bright Red Mitts - NFS

(8 cm in height, hand built clay - low fire glaze)

Simone was so excited when she finished her mitts. It was quite an undertaking, all of those stitches, all of that focus, but it was done!  She ran outside into the snowy backyard, holding her bright red yarn in her bright red mitts to show off to the birds. Depending on their reaction, she would consider calling her mother to share the news.

Rocky's Retreat (wall hanging) - $75

(18 cm x 15 cm - hand built clay tile - low fire glaze)

The sun beat down on the man as he watched the scene unfold before him. Only in the last 2 years had he wanted to visit the mountains; before that, he was oblivious to the beauty as he sat day after day in his office, staring out the window watching cars and people move through life. His cousin had emailed him to invite him to her cabin in the mountains. The thought of being in the 'wild' didn't appeal to him at first, but as she sent picture after picture, he began to see himself in a different place, slowly realizing how much he had missed in his life. And now, he was there.

Mandy Practices Her Arabesque

(9 cm in height, hand built clay - low fire glaze)

The moment she found out she was in, Mandy began working harder than she had every worked before. At the break of dawn Mandy made one cup of very hot coffee, took a brisk walk in the early light, and then sat on the side of her twin bed and carefully pulled her tutu and ballet shoes out from underneath the bed.  As she felt the taffeta in her fingers she knew that this was her only chance to show that she had it in her. She wasn't going to blow it this time.

Mary Lou Sings To Her Piglets

(PRIVATE COLLECTION)

(10 cm in height; piglets 2 cm in height, hand built clay - low fire glaze)

"It was always a pleasure to listen to Mary Lou when she sang to her pigs" explained Grandpa.  "She understood what they needed to hear - her voice was like hungry sparrows in the springtime." I watched my grandpa's face as his eyes stared off into the distance and a tear slipped slowly down his cheek. "I miss her dearly, my little Mary Lou, I miss her dearly."

JoJo And Her Fish Take A Swim

(8 cm in height, hand built clay - low fire glaze)

JoJo was amazed at what she saw. The Barrier reef was more beautiful than she could have ever imagined, and she knew that Hermy had to see it too.  She ran breathlessly back to her hotel in her lovely yellow bathing suit. She picked up his bowl and danced excitedly as she explained what she wanted to do.  Water sloshing onto the carpet, Hermy stared at her in his same stoic way, lips opening and closing as if to say he was  ready.  She knew this was going to be a great day.

Mertyl Takes A Moment From Gardening For Tea - NFS

(hand built clay - low fire glaze)

Mertyl was an avid gardener. Her greatest pleasure was to work through the morning while it was cool, pulling weeds, planting seeds, and watching each little bud bloom.  Although Early Grey tea was her preference, sometimes she would go out on a limb and have a Lipton, just for a change.

Spring Is Sprung! - $70

(6x10 - handbuilt clay - low fire glaze)
